Badass Comic Book Cover: Justice League #0

badass-justice0

Every week, I’ll be bringing you a comic book cover that I feel eclipses others out there—to the point I might just have to own it!

The BadAss Comic Book Cover for this week is for Justice League #0. The New 52 has been going now for a year but there have been some exclusions to that line-up. Fans wanted to know more—especially about Shazam. In response, DC Comics editor-in-chief Bob Harras said about the Issue #0s: “Some issues will tell the origins of a character or a team, or in some case where an origin has already been told, they will fill in the blanks in terms of questions readers may have about the New 52 DC Universe. Each of these issues promises to reveal something surprising.”

Why do I love this cover though? Shazam! Finally! Billy Batson has been largely absent from the New 52 but that is about to change. Here he is in this Justice League #0, filled with power, a dastardly look on his face. You can almost feel the lightning leaking off the page. It’s filled with rage and glee, a terrible combination. Would love to see this Shazam go up against the Man of Steel ala Kingdom Come!
