San Diego Comic Con 2011 afforded us the opportunity to talk with many talented people, among them J. David Spurlock, a famed artist, author and philanthropist who has instructed budding artists at the School of Visual Arts in New York, the Joe Kubert School and The University of Texas in Arlington, Texas.
Spurlock spoke with me about his newest book, How to Draw Chiller Monsters, Werewolves, Vampires and Zombies, an instruction manual that features an introduction by Rob Zombie and art and commentary from some of the industry’s biggest stars, including Neal Adams, Jim Steranko, Frank Frazetta and Basil Gogos. Look for it in September from Crown.
