Suvudu is attending the 2011 San Diego Comic Con!
Why? Because Suvudu is like Comic Con all year ’round!
The crazy thing is, the convention is only a week away. Soon I will be flying out of Seattle to join my other Suvudu contributors in SoCal. There are also dozens of fantasy and sci-fi authors attending the convention. To use a word from The Three Amigos, a plethora. That means Suvudu will be surrounded by some of the best in the business—not to mention 120,000 geeking fans.
That’s where you come in!
Not everyone can attend Comic Con. They have limited space. Therefore, I am video interviewing a number of authors while in San Diego and one of them is the beautifully talented Kim Harrison. Kim is going in support of her new Hollows graphic novel Blood Work.
Here is a bit more about Blood Work:
When Ivy met Rachel, the result wasn’t exactly love at first sight. Sparks flew as the living vampire and the stubborn witch learned what it meant to be partners. Now Kim Harrison, the acclaimed author of Pale Demon and Black Magic Sanction, turns back the clock to tell the tale—in an original full-color graphic novel.
Hot-as-hell, tough-as-nails detective Ivy Tamwood has been demoted from homicide down to lowly street-crime detail. As if rousting trolls and policing pixies instead of catching killers wasn’t bad enough, she’s also been saddled with a newbie partner who’s an earth witch. It’s enough to make any living vampire bare her fangs. But when a coven of murderous witches begins preying on werewolves, Rachel Morgan quickly proves she’s a good witch who knows how to be a badass.
Together, Ivy and Rachel hit the mean streets to deal swift justice to the evil element among Cincinnati’s supernatural set. But there’s more to their partnership than they realize—and more blood and black magic in their future than they bargained for.
So post your questions for Kim below in the comments field. I’ll try my best to ask her as many as possible in the time we have allotted—on video, even!
Also, if any of you are going to 2011 Comic Con, be sure to find the Random House / Suvudu aisle. We’ll be in the thick of it. Stop by and say hello. Who knows? We may even want to sit you down for a video interview of your own about the convention, what you’ve purchased, who you’ve met and what you’ve gotten signed!
More in a week! Stay tuned!

Hi Kim!
You are where everyone on the East Coast wants to be right now. Please tell us what it is like being at this most renouned of all science fiction/fantasy Conventions ?
Thanks,
Tim
I know you use music a lot as inspiration for your writing.
Is there a song in particular that you hear and makes you think of Al’s character?
I’m a huge fan! Wish I could be at Comic Con! ?
Hi Kim!
You have fans in Latin America! What about the rest of the books in Spanish? we have only 4 published. When you think of editing the series in Latin American Spanish? (The European Spanish is not the same as Latin American Spanish) Please…! we would love to have the rest of the series soon!
Do you read/scan through the Discussions section of your Facebook site? Just wondering because I think that’s the best place to “hide” reader thoughts on later books that might be “spoilers” for some fans, but wondered if you’d see what we post there. I love your Rachel books, thank you for the hard work you put into them!
Also, do you have a list of upcoming signings/appearances somewhere? (Hoping you’ll be at DragonCon!)
I’d love to know if the slang u use like “crap on toast” related to ur real life experiences, or were they more burning bunnies? Also, I want to know what u geek out about? Thanks!

Hiya Kim,
Having finished the Hollows series I feel like I have gained some insight into who Al really is. Is it just me or is Al in fact Darth Vader? First and foremost I saw him as this intimidating, dark, mysterious, evil being but the more I read I see the emotions, his personal trama, his sense of wanting to do the right things, his battles with his own inner demons (no pun intended). I feel our friend Algaliarept is on a path to the light side? What do you thinks of this assessment? Could Al be walking with the angels? Follow-up question, wat do you think of the coolness that is Darth Vader?
1. Are you going to re-build VampiricCharms.com for fan purchases or fold it into the D-Box?
2. Blood Work is awesome. Will there be mugs, tee shirts, posters and Ivy swag?
3. How many graphic novels do you think you may like to write in the near future?
4. Are you coming to NY Comic Con?
5. Will there be a book signing in NY, SC, GA, FL?
6. Can you give us a brief overview of what to expect next from your new projects?
Adore your work and am really looking forward to the next release.
